I’m Dr Mathew Wilkinson, BDS (Hons) MFDS RCPS PGDip Rest Dent (UCL), and I’ve been part of the team at Eye & Dental Clinic since 2021.
Day to day, my role involves seeing patients, treating dental disease, perfecting smiles, winding up the nurses, and helping people feel confident about their teeth again. I have a particular focus on aligners and cosmetic dentistry, where careful planning and attention to detail really matter.
When it comes to supporting patients, I believe in giving clear choices. I take time to talk through all the available options and offer a range of solutions, from simple and practical treatments to more complex or premium dentistry. Whether someone is budget-focused or looking for a full cosmetic transformation, I aim to help them make an informed decision that feels right for them.
I trained at Cardiff University, and as a Welshman myself, it felt like a natural place to study. I’ve since continued my training with postgraduate qualifications, including a Postgraduate Diploma in Restorative Dentistry from University College London.
Clinically, my main interests are orthodontics, veneers and restorative dentistry. I enjoy combining function and aesthetics to achieve results that look great and last.
Outside of dentistry, I’m a big wine enthusiast and hold a WSET Level 2 qualification, including wine tasting. I also hold a Level 2 qualification in powerboating, which gives me a good excuse to spend time on the water when I can.
