Porcelain veneers are likely to be the ones you associate with the most when you think about veneers. They are an eggshell-thin, tooth-shaped cover that goes over the entire front surface of the teeth to give the illusion that they are your natural teeth. They are usually made from porcelain, as the name suggests.
At the Eye and Dental Clinic, the porcelain veneer procedure usually requires two or more sessions with your dentist. Firstly, the tooth is prepped, which involves removing a thin layer of enamel, under a local anaesthetic if required, and your dentist will take the initial dental impressions. These impressions are then used to fabricate your veneers.
Once they’re ready, your personal veneers will be bonded and cured using a special light-sensitive resin. The procedure is painless; however, sometimes a local anaesthetic is used (but not always necessary). Generally, veneers involve minimal discomfort. Had a deep clean today with Alla and Rachel, which was great, they were very gentle and even fixed a stubborn stain between my teeth, which they noticed during the treatment! If I could give more than 5 stars for Mr J Uddin, I would. The reception staff were really polite and helpful. I had my chalazion removal surgery 2 months ago, and I was really worried and scared about the whole procedure since it involved a delicate area. Mr J Uddin is a very experienced ophthalmologist, and if you need to have the same surgery as I did, you’ll be in safe hands. It’s really good to see hcp’s going above and beyond for their patients. I really valued the knowledge that he shared with me, and I learnt a lot about my condition. I was actually meant to go to a different clinic before, but I’m so glad I found out about this clinic. I really hope I won’t need another chalazion removal surgery in my lifetime again, but if I ever did, I would 100% come back to this clinic.

There are a few stages to getting your veneers completed, but you’ll be happy to know that the process is completely pain-free, and your dentist will make sure you are as comfortable as possible.
