The composite bonding price is around £200 for the edge of a tooth and around £300 per full tooth, again the price will vary depending on other factors and if you opt for more treatment.

How veneers are made and fitted

At the Eye and Dental Clinic, the porcelain veneer procedure usually requires two or more sessions with your dentist. Firstly, the tooth is prepped, which involves removing a thin layer of enamel, under a local anaesthetic if required, and your dentist will take the initial dental impressions. These impressions are then used to fabricate your veneers.

Once they’re ready, your personal veneers will be bonded and cured using a special light-sensitive resin. The procedure is painless; however, sometimes a local anaesthetic is used (but not always necessary). Generally, veneers involve minimal discomfort. Here at the Eye & Dental Clinic, we will make sure you are as comfortable as possible throughout your veneer journey. Here is a more detailed explanation of how veneers are made and fitted.

1. The first stage is to take X-rays of your teeth and use a special dental putty to create an impression of your teeth. Sometimes this stage is done at the consultation, and other times it is done at a follow-up appointment.
2. Some dentists will create images of what your veneers will look like after creating an impression of your teeth and talking to you about your goals.
3. Next, your dentist will remove a small bit of enamel from the teeth to create space for the veneer. A mould is then made so your veneers can be created to the right fit. Your dentist will also use a colour chart to match your veneers to the natural colour of your teeth.
4. In the meantime, most dentists will fit temporary veneers whilst the real, permanent ones are being made.
5. When the permanent veneers arrive, they will be attached to your mouth using a special dental glue so the veneer bonds to your tooth, which only takes a matter of minutes.
6. And that’s that! It doesn’t take long at all, and whilst you may experience a little sensitivity afterwards and your new teeth might feel a little strange for a while, you will walk out of the dentist feeling a million times better and more confident with your new, polished, white and perfect teeth.
